New Experimental Game Build: 1.109 Pre-Alpha

Heyo and salutations, everyone ^w^

I’m pleased to announce that Version 1.109 Pre-Alpha is now live, and with it, Chapter 11, and some other cool stuff. At least, I think it’s cool. In reality, it’s not very impressive, but I still hope you like it.

In Chapter 11: A Firm Hand Lent, events in Echoes: A Lucid9 Fangame take a turn for the worse as Chairman Saito declares Biological Condition One and ramps up biohazard control restrictions in District 2, making life more difficult for everyone, though with ample reason to do so. nILV-40 is now loose in Isamu, and so is the knowledge that such is the case, thanks to announcements from both the Chairman to District 2, and Masaru Inori, the terminally ill Mayor of Isamu, who locks down District 6 in its entirety and informs the entire city that they are in grave danger, though not without his government’s characteristic sophistry.

Chapter 11 also marks the debut of the Emergency Response Intelligence System, or ERIS, an AI who is fully activated after the emergency declaration to assist the Operatives and Staff of the Lucid Cell while hopefully being all-around waifu material. Agent Airi Hiraga returns to meet with Rui and Emi, thumping her chest in the name of authoritarianism and plutocratic oligarchy before she ultimately demands that Rui and Hisao take a field trip to District 5, Lemniscate’s corporate autonomous zone. There, Rui meets with an entity known as The Warden, seemingly in control of DCIS, and perhaps Lemniscate, in its entirety. After being viciously badmouthed by the Warden and lambasted for past mistakes as if at the worst family reunion, Rui and the Lucid Cell are given a dire and morally questionable mission, but one that they seemingly have no choice but to complete. With that, the stage is set for Chapter 12, despite very little actually happening.

1.109 also brings with it a bunch of features that should have been present on release, and, at the moment, don’t do much. For starters, Rui’s military uniform has been added to the game, which you can change into at the Lucid Cell’s Headquarters. I’ve also added a variety of new weapons,, as well as a dedicated button, hover sound, and equipment sub-sub-screen for each weapon type within the Equipment sub-screen of the Operations Screen. As of this update, a Sniper Rifle, Light Machine Gun, Heavy Weapon, and two Melee Weapons have been introduced to the game, along with a new weapon type for each of them. This will bring the total number of weapon types up to 11, which is just enough to consume the remaining circles I have on the Equipment screen. A spooky incomplete skeleton version of District 5 has also been added, where you can visit a Lemniscate Security Quartermaster if you have at least a neutral standing with the Lemniscate Corporation. From there, you can purchase and upgrade the SR700 Locus Sniper Rifle, the LMG1000 Mitigator Light Machine Gun, and the RL4 Ultimatum Rocket Launcher, a weapon so unbalanced and loaded with overkill that you have to be at least 100 meters from the enemy to use its special ability. You’ll also start the game with the SSD Shrike Dagger and will receive the SSD Petrel Machete at the beginning of Chapter 12, which are the starter Secondary Melee and Primary Melee weapons respectively. While you won’t be able to actually use them until the start of the new mission in Chapter 12, I hope to add them into the game soon with the next update, though it might take a while to come out due to the fact that I’m reaching the end of the transcribable content for the game that I’ve already written.

As always, screenshots from the new version of the game can be found below.

Thanks again for all the support ^w^
